East Windsor Police were called to 119 Chamberlain Road around 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 6, when an OnStar notification indicated a crash, authorities said. They found a single vehicle that had left the road and hit a tree in a wooded area.

The driver was unconscious and not breathing when officers arrived, police said. His passenger was awake but was suffering from severe injuries. Police have not released their names as they contact the families.

Paramedics rushed the passenger to an area hospital where they remain in critical condition, police said.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. An initial investigation found that he had likely suffered a medical emergency leading up to the crash.

The wreck remains under investigation.
